About me

Hey there! I’m Sasha. Welcome to my blog based out of the ‘Air Capital of the World.” Looking up to see a large jet overhead is a pretty common sight here in Wichita. I love driving to work as a jet zooms over my sunroof, or sitting on my patio watching airy white jet trails cut across the pink Kansas sunset. It’s one of the very cool things I’ve come to love about living in Wichita.

That’s really what this blog is about – enjoying the view. I’m a seventh generation Kansan, so I may be a bit biased, but life here is pretty great.
I grew up in a charming small town in North Central Kansas, graduated from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) with degrees in journalism and political science, and I married my college sweetheart in 2012.  Missy May, my trusty maltipoo sidekick since college, also makes frequent appearances on the blog. In October 2018 - just two days after my birthday- we welcomed our perfect little IVF baby, Parker Michael. He has been the greatest joy for us and we feel blessed to raise a little boy in Kansas near our families. My husband is an aerospace engineer and I spend my day with high school students as a director of college counseling at a private high school. I also teach fitness classes and write for local publications.

On this blog I chronicle all my favorite things about life here - family adventures, fitness, cooking, entertaining with friends - but you'll notice a larger focus on our newest endeavor, the Kuchinski House, a bit of a fixer upper that we purchased in August 2019. Follow along as we bring our unexpected dream house to life.

I hope you enjoy the view from my flyover state as much as I do. I’m so glad you stopped by.
